When to Go to the Emergency Room
While many ocular emergencies can be managed in our office, some cases may require immediate referral to a hospital or retina specialist, including:
Sudden complete loss of vision
Penetrating eye injuries
Chemical burns with severe pain or swelling
Retinal detachment symptoms with curtain-like vision loss and flashes of light
